Copia Interactive, LLC (“Copia”) respects the privacy of its users. This Privacy Policy is designed to inform you about the types of information that we gather about or collect from you in connection with your use of our online platform or app (collectively, “Services”), how we use and disclose that information, and your rights in relation to that information. This Privacy Policy must be read together with our Terms of Use.

If you are located outside of the United States, please be advised that you may be transferring your information to us in the United States, where it will be processed. Your information will be subject to this Privacy Policy, which may not be as protective as the laws in your country. By using the Services, you agree to this.

Information We Collect:

Information You Provide
In order to create your user account, we collect certain information including your first and last name, user name and password. Certain services may also require that you provide your email address. You may also choose upload a photo to personalize your account. In addition, district/school administrators are required to provide their institution name and address.

If you make a purchase utilizing the Services, we may also collect your name, address, telephone number and financial information such as your payment method (valid credit card number, type, expiration date or other financial information) in order to process your order.

We may also collect information from you when you send us a question in the support forum. Additionally, as part of the Services, users may post questions, comments and notes about or in response to readings and lesson plans. These questions, comments and notes may be made available to the instructor and their students for the education purpose. We do not use them for any other purpose.

We operate in compliance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). Children under the age of 13 provide a limited amount of personally identifiable information only for the purpose of creating and customizing their account for the education purpose. We rely on the district/school to provide consent for collection of that information on behalf of the parents or legal guardians.

Parents who wish to review the information we may have collected from their child may contact their district/school, which is able to access the student’s personal information from their account. We will also facilitate and support districts/schools with any additional assistance they may need in providing this information to parents, as well as delete any student information requested by parents or legal guardians.

Usage Information
When you use our Services, we automatically collect the Internet Protocol (“IP”) address or UUID associated with your computer or connected device. We may also collect additional information such as login timestamp, the browser type and version, and the operating system of the computer. In some cases, we may also collect your general geographic area. We use this information to help us administer the Services and to diagnose and resolve technical problems.

We may also capture “clickstream data” about your usage. Clickstream data includes information about your “clicks” or actions on our Services, such as what you see or click on during your visit and how you interacted with certain features. It can include information about your computer or device, Web browser and operating system and settings and may include referrer URL information that is automatically passed to us (that is, information about where the user came from before arriving on our Services, which may include search terms in the URL string).

To track information about use of our Services, we use various technological tools including Cookies. We do not sell, rent or otherwise use information that may identify you for commercial purposes. In addition, we do not disclose, distribute, access or reference information that may identify you except as noted at the time that we request the information or for the following purposes:

We may also use aggregated and deidentified information to analyze the use of our Services, to develop and improve our Services and to demonstrate the efficacy of our Services, all in an effort to improve the educational value of our Services. Other than for the foregoing, we do not use your information for any other purposes..

Accessing Your Information:
You may at any time review or change information you have provided to us when creating your account by going to your account settings or contacting us using the contact information below. Upon your request, we will deactivate or delete your account and contact information from our active databases. Such information will be deactivated or deleted as soon as practicable in accordance with our deactivation policy and applicable law.

Third Party Links:
Within our Services, users are able to include links to third party websites. We are not responsible for those websites, and this Privacy Policy does not apply to those websites. Those websites have their own privacy policies, and we encourage you to read them.

Security:
We are committed to protecting the security of your information, and take reasonable electronic, personnel, and physical measures to protect it from loss, theft, alteration, or misuse. We host the data in a secure cloud-based environment that uses a firewall and other industry-standard technology and data is encrypted in transit and at rest in an effort to prevent interference or access from outside intruders. We also require unique account identifiers, and we encrypt sensitive information such as credit card numbers and personal information using secure socket layer (SSL) technology to provide for the secure transmission of the information from your computer to our servers. Credit card information is processed via a PCI-compliant vendor. However, the Internet is not perfectly secure, and we are not responsible for security breaches not reasonably within our control.

We require that you maintain the confidentiality and security of your user name and password, and ask that you contact us at privacy@thecopia.com. if you become aware of any unauthorized use, loss or theft of your account credentials.

Changes to this Policy:
As our product evolves, we may make changes to this Privacy Policy. The date noted above indicates when it was last updated. Should we make material changes to the Privacy Policy, or otherwise when required by law, we will notify you via email or other contact information that you have provided, and in some cases, we may request that you consent to the changes.
